A powerful vocalist whose repertoire reveals a sure command of rock,pop, soul, blues, jazz, and a variety of other styles; Joan Osborne burst into stardom in 1995 with the release of her first major-label album, Relish. The song “One of Us” became a massive hit single, and a career as a pop star seemed assured.

Her 1995 album Relish was a critical and commercial success and spawned the international hit single and video “What If God Was One Of Us“. She directed the video for Relish’s second single St. Teresa and created the artwork for the album’s physical package. She has traveled the U.S. and the world for over twenty-five years performing in clubs, theaters, arenas and stadiums, with her own band and as a featured vocalist.

At Bearsville, we are making it our mission to strive for equality for women in the music industry. We Got the Beat: A Summit Weekend for “Women in Music” will bring together a diversity of creatives and music lovers for three days of concerts, panels, screenings, and conversation at Woodstock’s historic Bearsville Theater, March 25-27. A supportive immersive weekend covering every aspect of the contributions made by women.

– This first annual gathering will feature workshops, expert panels and dialogues with acclaimed music journalists, broadcasters, producers, photographers, writers and critics. Our line up includes Sarah LaDuke, Carmel Holt, Kandia Crazy Horse and Jannette Beckman.

– Network with industry leaders such as award winning director Barbara Kopple, guitar virtuoso Debra Devi, Laura Whitmore, Amy Linden and many more.

– And enjoy live music with concerts Friday & Saturday from RRHOF Inductee and Grammy winner Darlene Love, Grammy, Brit and MTV Music Award winner Joan Osborne.

Hosted by author/music journalist Holly George-Warren and Bearsville venue owner Lizzie Vann, this first annual gathering celebrates women’s achievements and supports professional growth for women in the music industry.
