Perry Beekman is a rare commodity in the world of classic jazz. A gifted guitarist, vocalist and arranger, he brings a unique trio of musical talents to his passion for the songs of the Great American Songbook. When you add in his quick wit, smart sense of humor and impressive knowledge of the history of American popular song, you’ve got an uplifting, informative and highly entertaining musical experience.

Whether in live performance or on his many recordings, Perry creates a kind of musical poetry, with each tune polished into a sophisticated gem of expression. He stays true to the original melodies and lyrics of the American Songbook, yet wraps them in surprising harmonies, complex rhythms and a relentless sense of swing. The result: the style, sound and intensity of a big band distilled into a jazz trio.

For the last decade, Joe Kaczorowski was the saxophonist and band leader of the national award-winning Kazz Music Orchestra, with which he led performances throughout the Hudson Valley and Northeast. He has performed at jazz festivals across the US with Billboard chart-topping smooth jazz trumpeter, Cindy Bradley. Outside of performing, Joe is involved as a Board member or volunteer supporting a range of organizations throughout the world, including serving as Treasurer and Board member of Opus Ithaca, a community music school in Central NY with nearly 500 students.

Bassist Lou Pappas’ career encompasses both Jazz and Classical music. After beginning with orchestras in Colorado and Oklahoma, he moved to New York to accept the position as bassist with the United States Military Academy Band at West Point, from which he retired in 2006. Since then, Mr. Pappas has kept a steady pace of performance with many groups in the New York area, such as the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, Taconic Opera Company, Woodstock Symphony Orchestra and the symphonies of Ridgefield and New Haven, Connecticut.

We do ask for a small cover charge. Too often, local musicians are paid poorly (or not at all and expected to work for tips). We are leading the fight to pay for musicians a decent amount for their contribution. Respect our Musicians and Keep Music Alive!
